The Chinook Fund is an activist-led community foundation dedicated to progressive social justice through grantmaking, technical assistance, and anti-oppression analysis and training. Since it was founded in 1987, the Chinook Fund has been recognized throughout Colorado for its pioneering efforts in supporting grassroots organizations working for progressive social change. The Chinook Fund has created two educational programs, The Social Justice Institute and Social Justice Awareness, which provide anti-oppression analysis and training to a variety of organizations in Colorado. As a vital community of committed and supportive volunteers, Board members, and staff, the Chinook Fund engages in ongoing discussions regarding oppression and privilege in order to maintain itself as a strong voice for progressive change in Colorado. The Chinook Fund is financially healthy and maintains a strong fundraising team of staff, Board and volunteers.
