Hi There,
I am new to this ,so please bear with me.
I would just like to share my adventures in the park.

Six months ago whilst taking my little dog for a walk, I saw a beautiful fox run across my path, I had a snack in my pocket ( healthy ) so I left it in the place I'd seen the fox and carried on my way.  When I returned ,the snack had gone but I couldn't be sure if it was the fox that had eaten it ,so each morning at about 2 A.M. I did the same and each time the snack disappeared .    I decided to fill a dish with dog food and wholemeal bread and butter, but still I didn't manage to catch sight of who was eating it, this went on for a few weeks until I left doggie at home and hid behind a bush--I saw a fox go straight to the tree and start munching the food.
This went on for a few weeks , when along came the fox as usual but this time 2 little cubs appeared with the adult ----soo I increased the food ,leaving 2 bowls of food which were eagerly gobbled up by mummy fox and her 2 babies.  This  went on for 5 months but the park wardens cut away all the bushes and the foxes were exposed and vulnerable( their behaviour became erratic and a bit skittish) ,so I moved them to a more secluded part of the park and they seemed a lot happier.     Each morning I'd call " foxy foxy"  and they'd come running for their supper,I added bacon, raw eggs ( as the protein is excellent for keeping them warm) some bacon, chicken ,cheese and sometimes tuna.  I named one Gannet because she seemed more bold than the other 2 and was always there ,first in line for her food.  The next one I called Skat, he was a bit nervous, the last one I named V, due to the upside-down V on his nose.  Gannet is sandy brown with a white tip on her tail, Skat is mottled /dark brown and grey with no white tip and V is a red colour with black paws and a white tipped tail ---they all have different characters and traits ,taste in food etc..
Over the last month Gannet has tailed off and only visits now and then but shows up occasionally ,so I'm satisfied she's doing well and able to fend for herself(which has always been a worry, the last thing I want is to have them dependant on me and to become too tame)---------I've reconciled myself to the fact that what I am doing,is working : 1.  It keeps them out of people's gardens ,so they don't annoy people :2. It keeps them off the road . : 3. they have good healthy food ,with adequate vitamins----instead of scavenging ,eating rubbish from the street.           Skat had an injury on his back ( the fox rescue wouldn't be prepared or able to catch him) so I put him on a course of dog vitamins and he is healing very well.
So there it is ,I had a fox when I was a child--he would visit the garden every night  and now I have 3.
When I feel they are getting too tame ( yes---sometimes they come within a foot of me and even nose into my bag for the food, I tell them to be nice to each other ,so they all get a share of the food ,I will order Gannet to go away whilst the others get a fair share of food and she will look at me ,move away and let them eat.
Dr Brian May ( of the rock band Queen) has started a website called SAVE ME ,which he dedicates to saving foxes and trying ti prevent hunting from returning( which is what the new government might do . He is also working hard on saving badgers from being culled ,along with doing something to help farm animals. His aim is to treat ALL animals with respect and if they are to be slaughtered( he is veggie),then for it to be humane.  I would like to promote his site and ask as many of you as possible ,to sign his petitions which will be sent to Downing street and D E F R A .
Thank you for reading about my adventures with foxes --------------------Annie.

Hi Annie, it's Christmas Eve and I have just read your story above, its fantastic to know that there are people like you in this world, gives me hope, what a wonderful story. I live in the country here in Ireland and am surrounded by people who would gladly kill any fox, which saddens me and causes endless arguments ! Anyway it is great to hear of someone who thinks as I do, very happy to be your friend, Susan A x

So kind! Love You and your foxes! I also had a fox cross my path, we tried to save, but, it had distemper and a vet did his thing. That fox was just waiting for help, sitting so sweetly, and allowed me to carry into car and transfer to another. I will look for the petition and SAVE ME 2010. (Funny thing about your photo, I just came upone the notion the other day to replace in my imagination humans with animals or beings from other planets, and this would reveal just how truly heinous the activities of humans are when they take over the lives of others, killing animals, other humans, polluting our world, and so on.

You are doing a really nice act - but - what is something happens and u can't make it there anymore do u think that they can now make it by themselves only?
It's kinda like feeding stray/feral cats - which I do -
but if I can't make it there to feed them, what'll they do about surviving?

I love your story of the Foxes - You deserve much more than a green star for your dedication to animals, I regret to say I have heard on the news the Badger Cull is going ahead starting in your area, this is very wrong and very sad - all we can do is fight on best we can.
I will look at Brian Mays site when I log off care2.
and look at your other postings. regards Alan
