About a week ago I got snagged by my spider friend that you see in this picture. You see his web was too close to my normal path between my garage and my patio. I didn't really want to take a stick to him and tear up his web so, I sprayed him out of the web with my water hose. I didn't kill him I just wanted him out of my path. I saw where he landed and I saw him crawl off. For the next day or two I was careful to watch out for him in order to avoid him.

Next thing I know he is outside my bedroom window upstairs.  This is where I got this picture. He is fine out there as long as he stays on the other side of that screen. When it got dark, I started to feel sorry for him because he had no catch in his web.

I took the lamp on the nightstand and elevated it to the level of the window and left the light on long enough for some unsuspecting moth to get tangled in his web. Is this crazy or what? He works so for what he eats!

His name is Spidee!

It's the sort of thing I would do. I move complete webs (only if necessary-normally I walk around them) by making a big wire loop. I can then move the whole web and spider and prop it up in a safe place.

Usually I do the same...except with Black Widows and Brown Recluse...they are too dangerous to play with.

According to Mike McGrath, the organic gardening expert who is regularly featured on WTOP, the all news radio in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, spiders are highly beneficial and should be encouraged and protected. As carnivores, they eat harmful insects such as ticks, mosquitoes, and flies, and do not feed on vegetation. This is great pest control without the use of toxic pesticides.

Similarly, house centipedes, while perhaps not attractive to us, are beneficial nocturnal predators which eat harmful insects such as cockroaches. Ever since I learned how beneficial and harmless to humans both spiders and house centipedes are, I have been careful to avoid harming them.

Since she loks to be an Orb Garden Spider...I think you're safe. I don't think she wants to come inside...probably just wanted to get the heck out of your way and positioned herself where she can keep an eye on you and vice-versa..giggle...but then ya never know.
Some of these tiny micro wolf spiders and black hopping spiders act like they want to tear ya a new one as they hop right up to you...maybe like this...

Hope that made you LAUGH

Maybe Marilyn has something good to say about earwigs...I sure can't think of anything. Once you've been pinched by one of them...it's hard to be nice...wink
