There is no way they should ever make any vaccine mandatory.  Freedom is much too precious--if you agree with the vaccine fine, but I would think you would still be against forcing people to get it especially since there are situations where the vaccine (any vaccine) is more dangerous for the state of the person's immune system.  Thanks to vaccines, my niece is going to spend the rest of her life with seizures and brain damage.  You never force something that can be poison for some bodies on anyone!  Never!!  And you never take choice away from the parents!!!  This is not about supporting the vaccine--this is about force.  It won't stop here.  Do your research--there is a chilling history of how vaccines have damaged precious lives.  Choice is important in this issue.  The government cannot tell you the best thing to do for your child nor will they take responisibility if what they tell you damages your child.  Be informed and stand up for your right to make decisions regarding vaccines.

Just a question for anyone.
Are you against the vaccine, or just in favor of a choice. I think your laws are different than here in Canada. I'm just curious

For me it is both. But ultimately, I am for choice--I will not tell anyone to not get this vaccine but to just be informed on what the risks are beforing deciding to get it and the key word is the individual decides--not the government.

It is also both for me. Also, I've lived long enough to remember all the drugs that were first advertised and promoted as the new "best" defense, etc. One only has to visit the site at the end of this comment ... to be reminded. I wondered why the airways were saturated with commercials regarding HPV then the new "best" drug hit the market. We don't have to reach too far back in our collective memories to pull up Vioxx (another Merck drug). A politician, with ties to a drug company, mandating vaccination should cause the hair on the back of our necks to always stand on end. When will we learn that Merck's HPV Vaccine has caused irreparable harm to young girls after ten years, 15, 20? BTW, are all young girls in Texas subject to this new rule, or only those attending public schools? If I had a young daughter in Texas, I would home school before I would allow a drug to be tested on her. I fear this generation is serving as laboratory subjects for Merck and its latest "best" drug.
