Skye Bortoli - Teens Against Whaling

Skye Bartoli is a 14 year old environmentalist from Anna Bay on the mid north coast of NSW in Australia and she represents teens against whaling. Skye is very passionate towards the protection of whales and has already won several awards. She won the ‘Girlfriend of the year’ model award last year, and a youth environmental award which she received on Australia Day 2007.
Skye’s love of whales, and dolphins, began 3 years ago when she was invited on board the Nelson Bay whale watching vessel, ‘Imagine’, to go out and see the whales that were passing by on their annual migration north to their birthing grounds in Queensland , and she has hardly missed a trip since.
Skye has been working very hard for the whales and has collected many petition signatures for Whale Call and IFAW, upon whose vessel she has been on board  following the whales. She will be the teenage ambassador representing teens from around the world against whaling at the International Whaling Commission (IWC) in Alaska this year and will present petitions to the Commisioner and deligates..

Skye is fundraising for the expenses to take her and her mother, Monique, overseas to this most important IWC meeting.

Skye, saw you last night on random acts of kindness and saw what you do!! you are such an inspiration and by the look of things you deserve everything you got and so much more!!! do you still need a million post cards? what address do you want it sent to i have lots of friends that would be willing to help!!

skye u hve inspired me to start my own organisation to help children in india being a teen u have shown me that nothing is impossible. the postcard appeal ur doing im willing to help so are my frends dont hessitate to get in contact with me!! u r my role model skye!
