Well, here we are….2012. WOW. Some folks are celebrating a new start, a blank page, clean slate. Others are wondering what the hell happened in 2011?? Some think this is the last year for the human race on earth. Others are planning for the great spiritual awakening that seems to be lurking in 2012. So many differences, so much to do, so little time and energy.
How about we concentrate on taking each day as it comes? Take what the Universe sends your way, use it to the best of your ability and maintain a balance with Mother Earth, Father Sky and all in between. Concentrate on being the stewards we are charged to be. Regardless of your beliefs or spiritualies, all of us are responsible for this Earth, this Environment, these co-dwellers who either walk, fly or swim around us. Let’s take this blank page and write our responsibilities on it. Then let’s check often to insure we are fulfilling these responsibilities.
New Year “resolutions” are actually just a “to do” list that will never be finished. Every year we look back and groan because we didn’t finish last year’s list and now we have to write a new list. How about NO list. How about just living in the moment. Enjoy each day for the blessing it is. Don’t like how you look??….so, change it or accept that this is how the Universe wants you to look. All of us have differences and we need to celebrate these differences, not condemn or gloat or bully or try to force our own ideals on others, or set unrealistic goals for ourselves that set us up for failure and even more self-loathing and pity.
NOPE, I intend to start this year with that clean page. I intend to lighten my carbon footprint…to recycle, to finally accept that face in the mirror and thank the Gods and Goddesses that I am here, I am on the Green side of the grass, taking nourishment and breathing. I intend to continue to fight for the rights of women, children, elderly and all who are being denied basic human rights. Gay, straight, bi-anything, multi-anything, christian, catholic, jewish, buddhist, mormom, pagan….don’t give a fig what you are….treat me and the Earth and fellow humans and animals with respect and compassion and we are good. We are great in fact. Differences?….I embrace them and enjoy learning about them. Don’t wave your idealistic crap in my face and we will get along fine.
Can we agree, life is meant to be enjoyed right up to the last second. Can we agree that differences can be embraced? Can we agree that ALL life is sacred? I sure hope so….I sure hope so……
Namaste’ my fellow Earth dwellers….Namaste’
