I Am An Animal Rescuer

I Am An Animal Rescuer
My job is to assist God's creatures.
I was born with the need to fulfill their needs.
I take in new family members without plan, thought or selection.
I have bought dog food with my last dime.
I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand.
I have hugged someone vicious and afraid.
I have fallen in love a thousand times and I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body.
I have Animal Friends and friends who have Animal Friends.
I don't often use the word "pet."
I notice those lost at the road side, And my heart aches.
I will hand raise a field mouse, And make friends with a vulture.
I know of no creature unworthy of my time.
I want to live forever if there aren't animals in Heaven.
But I believe there are!
Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind?
We may be master of the animals,
But the animals have mastered themselves,
Something people still haven't learned.
War and abuse make me hurt for the world,
But a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for humankind.
We are a quiet but determined army, And making a difference every day.
There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan.
Nothing more rewarding than saving a life.
No higher recognition than watching them thrive.
There is no greater joy than seeing a baby play who only days ago, was too weak to eat.
I am an Animal Rescuer.
My work is never done.
My home is never quiet.
My wallet is always empty.
But my heart is always full.
In the game of life, I have already won!

You sound just like me, I understand everything you stand for and love. I am under the same conditions.. Taking in everything that is lost and abused and needs a home. My home is over whelmed with what I call" My fury kids."
I have not had so much luck finding them all homes and my pocketbook is empty to.I struggle every week and month to feed and care, My food bill is about 150 a month and its pretty tough making ends meet on that note.I am a single mother witha very limited income.. but some how were making it by the grace of God. You said that you are doing Gods work, Thats funny that I read that because I say the same thing to people. I tell them I do Gods work all day long.I get upset when people tell me that I need to lose some of them because it is to much, Granted.. it is but that is where my heart is. I think to myself that if I didn't care then where would they be without me. Anyways, I have 7 dogs and like 15 cats. Some of the cats were set on fire that I rescued, many abandoned and left to fend on their own. I have placed atleast 18 dogs in homes in the past year,But I have not had that good of luck lately.I have a dog that has been on a waiting list at the A. S. P. C. A for atleast 2 years waiting for a open kennel( nothing). They told me she is what they call a Polk County special ( its where I live) and that I would be better off finding her a home. Anyways, I am looking to meet people like myself, so drop me a line or two.

OMG!!  Apparently this person has never been to a shelter on euthanasia day.  This bill is heroic!!!  I wish my state's general assembly had the intelligence to introduce a bill like this.  Four months of age is perfectly fine....
