Robert is a dog that was turned into the CACC after possibly being hit by a car. He is currently paralyzed in his hind end, and was scheduled for euthanasia. He was provided no pain relief, no medical assistance with his injuries, and was considered disposable. Pets Alive looked at this picture of him on the CACC death list and it spoke to us.
Could Robert be saved?
In reviewing his medical records, it appeared that surgery might be able to help him walk again. But we were out of time. Robert was scheduled to die that morning and we had to act quickly. Pets Alive pulled him here to our sanctuary, thanks to help from one of our volunteers who drove him all the way here from NYC.
When he arrived it was clear he needed immediate attention. He is currently at the Oradell Animal Hospital getting an MRI and then possibly surgery.
Please read the blog that we wrote about Robert here. On the blog post you can also see more pictures and some video of this very sweet and special boy. Then please consider making a donation to help us with costs to try to save his life. Not only save his life - but maybe one day walk again.
We are not sure what that expression on his face is saying, but it spoke to us. We leave it to your interpretation.
Does it speak to you too? To us, this was a dog that wanted to live, and was asking for a chance. Please help us to give that to him.
