Ok , so I commented on the article about Ricky Gervais mentioning that I had an issue with his attitude towards disabled people (as demonstrated in some of his language use) and was pretty heartly slapped for doing so . Ok thats cool but it made me wonder how much we critically analyse anymore..
I'm not a christian, never have been but I have always remembered the phrase about by their actions shall ye know them and maybe thats applicable to this because yes someone standing up for the rights of animals is a good thing , wouldn't dispute that animal testing is wrong . If anything I would question why we feel the need to spend so much money and time on cosmetics in the first place.
But conversly if someone does something good in one area of their life but is doing something bad in another area does the good out weigh the bad, does this mean we shouldn't mention the bad ?? Because in that case does that mean that what Hitler did shouldn't be discussed because by all accounts he was very keen on animal rights and loved his dog .
I don't have the answers to these questions, there probably aren't any right answers but it was a thought in passing and now I will stop procrastinanting and get back to revising for my exam.
Love and respect to you all x
