Well for any of you who've ever doubted the mind body link in illness , welcome to my pink eyed nightmare. I know I've been stresssed recently (yep waking up at the back door convinced my neighbour's cat is in the house is usually a fairly reliable sign ) so I was really just waiting for the ill fairy to come and sprinkle manky dust on me.
I was woken up this morning by the other half sounding like a horror actress because yep eye had swollen completly shut and was encrusted..not in a nice jewel way..
For those of you who come down with this there are a few things to remember.
1. It is infectious !!! Very infectious , wash your hands regularly , try not to touch your eyeball even if you want to take it out and scratch it and don't let anyone else use your flannel/towel.
2. Cold or warm compresses will help with the painfulness , I normally use cold ones for which I boil up a handfull of fresh thyme , strain and then chill , then soak either clean rags for cotton wool in ..It smells nice and it's anti-bacterial.
3. Treat it sooner rather than later and they do need proper treatment but there are lots of over the counter things available.
Love to you
