On a late November night, in 1987, Anansa María Santos Young, was making a nightly deposit from her place of business, when she was run off of the road by three armed assailants. She was then forcibly removed from her vehicle, gun point and thrown in the trunk of the assailants ´ car. She was taken to an isolated wooded lot and repeatedly raped, sodomized and assaulted, for over 3 1/2 hours and then left for dead.
In the early morning hours of the next day, an elderly couple heard the faint whimpering of Mrs. Young and found her to be clinging to life. Mrs. Young was airlifted by an helicopter from the Regional Medical Centre at Memphis, Tennessee. Mrs. Young had suffered broken jaw, ribs, right hand, fractured skull, lacerated pancreas, vaginal and anal bleeding, as well internal bleeding and 2 ruptured disks. She was in a coma for 10 days. Her husband, Shannon Balençiaga Young, a U.S. air Force officer stationed in Germany, was notified and immediately flew back to Tennessee, at Mrs. Young bedside, now out of her coma, she gave a “dieing declaration” to the Memphis police detectives. And was able to recognize at least one of her assailants, remembering that he had frequented her place of business on several occasions.
Armed with this new information, Mr. Young took the law into his own hands and sought and killed him. The assailant killed, had removed one of the two “unique” necklaces that had been crafted in Brazil, that Mrs. Young had been wearing at the time of the brutal attack. Mr. Young removed the necklace from the dead assailant, property that had rightfully belonged to his wife, and for that act, was convicted and sentenced for felony murder. Mr. Young had in fact, turned himself to authorities before they had even began their investigation. In Tennessee, the removal of ANYTHING from the victim of a homicide, constitutes felony murder, the act of committing a felony during the commission of the murder.
The fact of this matter is, Mr. Young should never have received a sentence of life imprisonment for what was a highly publicized trial where he had the entire support of the community. Nothing was considered of the brutal crime against his wife. Mr. Young has been incarcerated now for 25 years but has continued to fight for his freedom. He is a certified paralegal, however he requires funds to purchase legal books, research and copying service fees and purchase postage stamps. Mr. Young is as skilled as any attorney that I have ever known, and DOES NOT seek funding to hire an attorney. He just needs donations to purchase the above stated items.
I have to add that Mr. Shannon Young, was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His mother belonged to a very well known family in Brazil, the Balençiagas. and Mr. Young raised within a good family and has high values of life and he is a very well educated man.
We are asking to anyone who is financially able, to donate, .50 ( fifty cents, U.S. funds) to his cause. Far more than often, are reputable , good men, turned into sacrificial lambs in place of the true degenerate criminals of society, and it is time to take stands now!
WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Doctor Beatriz Mannise for Mr. Shannon Young.
