1. Buddy Rich 2. Elvin Jones 3. Max Roach 4. Roy Haynes 5. Jack DeJohnette 6. Tony Williams 7. Billy Cobham 8. Art Blakey 9. Joe Morello 10. Kenny Clarke

One of the best music experiences of my life was seeing Mr. Roy Haynes play live in New York at the Blue Note with Chick Corea on piano and Josh Redmond on sax (can't remember the rest of the lineup). Anyway, he couldn't have been more than 3 feet away from me. Watching him in action was literally mind blowing. I don't know all 10 of these guys. Has anybody seen any of these other folks?

Hard to argue with Buddy Rich, but I have to say that one of my favorite jazz drum solos (and performances in general) is Gene Krupa's in "Sing, Sing, Sing" at Carnegie Hall with Benny Goodman. Plus, it has been rumored in my family that Mr. Krupa had a crush on my grandma back in the day.
