We are the Chida Family, we have a family of 5 wonderful children. When our son Christopher was 12 he suffered a traumatic brain injury leaving him without use of his motor functions. He is on a feeding tube, he cant eat and has limited speech. But he is 98% cognotive, meaning he understands and is aware of everything. He is very smart, and has what they call a locked in condition, his mind is all there he just has no controlled movement. He is a happy wonderful young man. Recently we received word medicaid and medicaire were cutting funding and we lost all his nursing care, they also cut his basic necessities. We are now 24/7 caregivers. We both as parents have full time jobs outside the home and caregiver in shifts. Due to this crazy economy we are losing our home and recently were told the bank wants to reposess our handicap vehicle which we use to take chris to therapy and doctor appointments, as well as on trips to get him out in the world. The pressure has been overwhelming. We are constantly fighting red tape for even the basic needs for him. As well as created a new program to help the disabled.
My wife is a full time cashier at publix and I am an electrician. We work in shifts around the clock to take care of Chris. I work from 7-5 and take over until midnight and mom works nights and takes care of him during the day, we alternate the overnights because he cannot be left unattended.
We are trying to build a awareness of the serious problems facing the disabled and elderly in this country, 10% of all proceeds will go to a teen or elderly cause. we need your help fighting a system that has its eyes trained and targeted on taking as much away from our disadvantaged as possible...Please give your support. We will continue to be fundraisers for the disadvantaged and we are doing our best to bring out awareness. We plan on starting a web site geared to helping the disabled and elderly, but we can only do this with your support. Stay tuned..we are here to stay.....
We really need your help, we have exhausted all our resources and we need transportation...We sincerely appreciate anything you can do. christophers potential is unlimited and we really need your help.
10% of all donations collected will go to help troubled teens, drug rehab, and suicide prevention...

I,myself, have a disability due to birth and totally understand where you are coming from...I remember when I was little March of Dimes and United Way wouldn't help my parents with my care...their reason...my father made "enough money" well, government and some of these corporations seem to forget...the money made takes care of house, car, food, bills, education, clothing, and others within the family...not much left for medical care needs and equipment...I hope to see something progessed where help can be available for all us handicapped and disabled.

Perhaps we all experience
it differently. As I
