Rebuking Satan in the name of Jesus: Zechariah 3:2; Jude 1:9; Matthew 17:3; & 17:18; Mark 9:25; Luke 4:35; and Luke 9:42 Be sure to study these verses at home:
Zechariah 3:1 & 2
1.) Than He showed me Joshua, the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose Him.
2.) And the (Angel of the) Lord-'Michael', said to Satan, the Lord rebuke you Satan. The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked out of the fire?
Read Daniel 10:13; Daniel 10:21; Daniel 12:1 (in which the Angel of the Lord), [Michael], (is also called, one of the Chief Princes)-
9.) Yet Michael the archangel in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dare not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you."

I have heard many times people who say, "I rebuke you Satan; however, when reading Zechariah 3:2 even the angel of the Lord did not use the phrase I rebuke you Satan, but rather said, the Lord rebuke you Satan,
In another verse; Jude 1:9, it is explained to us that Michael the archangel, dare not bring against Satan reviling accusations, but said, "The Lord rebuke you, Satan!"
If Michael the Archangel, who holds the highest place in heaven among the angels; could not rebuke Satan directly, than we are truly placing ourselves in a very bad situation when we try to rebuke Satan instead of imploring that the Lord rebuke Satan.
Remember that while Jesus has given us the ability to petition the Lord to bind, and to loosen, Satan is waging a mighty war against the Lord. Satan is the great accuser, will fake the light, and will use any weakness you have against you, and to win his battle.
On the other hand, Jesus is more powerful than all the forces of the universe. When you ask the Lord to rebuke Satan, in the name of Jesus, Satan will not be facing you, but the Lord Himself!
