Study at home the chapter of Psalm 91:1-16~
Guardian of the People~Ester 10:3
3.) For Mordecai the Jew was next unto King Ahasuerus and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of His brethren, seeking the wealth of his people,and speaking peace to all his seed.
1.) Lord you have been favorable to Your land: You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2.) You have forgiven the iniquity of your people; You have covered all their sin.
3.) You have taken away all Your wrath;
You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.
4.) Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And cause your anger towards us to cease.
5.) Will You be angry with us forever?
Will you prolong Your anger to all generations?
6.) Will you not receive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?
7.) Show us your mercy Lord, and grant us Your salvation.
A Psalm of the sons of Korah~
These guardians of the people were seeking the best interests of their people. Mordecai most likely was a Prayer Guardian as well as a King; and the Sons of Korah were praying a prayer of repentance, asking for mercy for the people, and asking for the salvation of the people.
Many others have also prayed similar prayers for their people. And this is the kind of prayer that the Lord is pleased with. A humble prayer of repentance and a petition for mercy and salvation for their people. This is also a prayer for revival!
11.) But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy,
Because you defend them;
Let those also who love Your name
Be joyful in You.
12.) For You O Lord, will bless the righteous;
with favor You will surround him as with a shield.
This prayer tells us that when we are following the Lord, we can and should rejoice; and it is a promise that He will surround those who love His name, rejoice in Him, and trust Him, as with a shield, (in other words, protection).
1.) God is our refugee and strength,
A very present help in trouble,
I love this whole chapter! I urge you read this at home! These mostly are promises of protection from the Lord, and these are what a prayer guardian relies on when going to prayer for a people. There are many of these promises in the Psalms alone and in many places of the Bible.
In Isaiah 43:2
2.) When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
nor shall the flame scorch you.
A promise is also made; and there are many other promises, so it
So that it is clear that God offers His protection to those who ask, and that Jesus offers salvation to those who ask.
So when a Prayer Guardian is led to pray for protection for a people, he/she is to pray for repentance, mercy and salvation for a people first; and than for than for the protection of a people.
