PRAYER GUARDIANS~
Study at home the chapter of Psalm 91:1-16~
Samuel was a Prayer Guardian for the people; David prayed for protection often;he needed protection because he was to be a King and a great leader; Nehemiah was a Prayer Guardian.
1 Samuel 7:5; Nehemiah 1:1-3~

  Samuel 7:5

And Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord for you."

Nehemiah 1:1-4

1.)The words of Nehemiah; the son of Hachalia.

It came to pass in the month of Chislev, in the twentieth year as I was in Shushan the citadel,

2.)that Hanani one of my brethern came with men from Judah;and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.

3.) and they said to me, "The survivors who are left from captivity in the province are left in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and it's gates are burned with fire."

4.) So it was when I heard these things, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of Heaven.

Samuel and Nehemiah were both great spiritual leaders, not only leading their people in prayer but also in how to live, and in rebuilding. Nehemiah persuaded the King to let the Jewish captives go free, led them to Jerusalem again, and helped them to rebuild their city, and their great wall. In those days a wall was necessary for protection from invading armies, outlaws, and marauders. But before leading their people anywhere, giving any advice, or doing any rebuilding they prayed and spent time alone, waiting on the Lord.

David also was a great and chosen leader for the Jewish people, and he also spent much time in prayer. David had many enemies who did not want to see him take the throne, because of jealousy and envy, and many of his enemies knew that he would be a force for God. He had to flee before he even became King.
