We've all heard the old adage that
ignorance of the law is no excuse. Even when visiting other regions or
countries, we're expected to abide by the local laws. It is common
knowledge that there may be penalties to face if we step out of line,
and so we make it our business to know enough to get by. It is up to
each individual to decide how deeply familiar to be with the law, but
the same rules apply to us all. (There are exceptions, sometimes, based
upon numerous factors.) What about the laws of nature? Does ignorance
of the law matter then? Oh, no, not a bit. We are all held
accountable to nature's laws.
Hmm...with exceptions. A few.
For the most part, ignorance of the law is absolutely not an excuse and
the consequences of breaking the law must be paid. If you jump out of a
10th story window you will fall to the ground, unless something breaks
your fall or a miracle occurs. (Exceptions to the rule...do you see?)
for the most part it pays to know certain natural laws, as in the case
of gravity, above. By knowing this law exists, we can avoid jumping
through windows thinking that we will not fall, because gravity says
that we will. We understand that this is a law.
There are many
natural laws that we should understand. For instance, it is unnatural
to eat unnatural foods, and there will be consequences to pay because
these substances fall outside of what's natural.
Unnatural = outside of nature.
it is wise to learn about the natural laws which are likely to impact
up;on our life, just as it is wise to become familiar with the laws
where you visit or live. What kinds of laws might these be?
Outside of nature = Outside of natural law.
Outside of the law = breaking the law.
Consequences will likely occur.
Ignorance is no excuse!
there are plenty of laws about food and how it affects the body, for
one thing. And there are laws about how it affects the body to ingest
poisons, as well. We would do quite well to learn some of those laws!
laws of exercise are important, and laws about getting the right kind
of rest. If we live outside of what is natural for us, we are in
essence breaking these natural laws. If we live inside of these laws,
then everything functions the way that it should, just like a peaceful
town with empty jails. Following natural laws makes your body a nice
place to live.
Are the exceptions? Yes, of course. We've all
heard of the man who lived to be 190 (he gets older each time that I
hear this story!) and smoke, drank and chased women all of his life.
Yes, exceptions occur! But for the most part, there are reasons related
to lifestyle and the breaking of natural laws that are at the root of
most disease. At the very least there are natural ways that could be
applied to bring the body more in line with natural law. It is within
our nature to be well. Sickness ONLY occurs as a diversion from natural
law. Health means we are as we should be.
Then, superseding all
of this, there are spiritual laws. Spiritual laws are Universal Laws.
Laws like the Law of Attraction and the Law of Karma and the Law of
Love as Supreme!
Love can overcome all. God can overcome all.
God can step in when a person is in the deepest kind of legal trouble
anyone could ever imagine and suddenly the trouble is gone. Likewise,
natural laws have been superseded in cases of miracles when someone
supposedly "ought" to be dead. (I've been one of those cases before
myself! My guess is a lot of us have!)
So yes, there are
exceptions. These are through what we call "grace." Grace is what we
live on, for it is the Father within which doeth the works. Of
ourselves, we do nothing. But we do have a responsibility to live
within the law, and to not continually have to call on grace to save us,
when we should be saving ourselves just a wee little bit. God helps
those who help themselves!
God. God is Love. This is the Supreme Law, and it is Universal. God is all that there is.
"...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:36-40)
lovingly created us in the perfect image of love and goodness and life.
Father God, Mother Earth--We are created out of their image. Our
spiritual nature is of God, or of Love, and our physical nature is of
our Mother Earth. We are made of the dust of the earth. There is an
order to the Universe and we are a part of it all. We must adhere to
natural and spiritual laws of life and love. If we eat, drink or
breathe poison, we are increasing our risk of illness or death. If we
are unkind, we compromise our spiritual health, and will not come to true
peace and happiness until we learn to walk the pa;th of love. It's as
simple as that. Ignorance of these laws is no excuse. We're working to
wipe ignorance out so we can more fully express Love and Life!!!
the Lord thy God means loving your Creator and respecting the way you
were created to be. Loving God means following God's laws, which
include the laws of nature. You can break these laws, but end the end
you will pay. Maybe it's just one cola drink now and a few french fries
then, and later a couple of beers and no exercise, but it all adds up,
especially if you throw in a few srays of synthetic (and toxic!) perfume
and a lifestyle all full of stress. You can make excuses, but do they
really excuse you from paying the price over time? What? You didn't
know? Well, it's your body, so you really should know how you are
affected by the choices you make!
Bad posture? Leads to problems. Not drinking enough water? Tons of
problems! Negative thinking? Negative results. There are physical and
spiritual laws which come into play, and blaming it on the wrong
prescription, or genetics, or just darned bad luck doesn't excuse you
from the consequences of eating too many fried foods or smoking
cigarettes or anything else. Excuses matter not one single bit, whether
ignorant of the law, or defiant, in fact. The end result is that the
law is the law, and other than through acts of God, if we break the law,
we have to pay back in kind.
The good news is that the laws can likewise work to our good if we obey them! Learn how to live a life in alignment with your highest good! (No excuse!)
