I am sad, 10 beautifull trees, on a square of about 40 to 50 meters, between houses and buildings, have been taken down, many items, houses, streets in the naighbourhood changed, but the trees stood there, getting taller and bigger, trying to capture the light over roofs of new build buildings, they survived and did good, we all enjoyed the majestic and tal green roof they gave each summer, their branches and wispering leaves...
But the citycouncel-goverment? of Amsterdam thaught different, saying they were ill, had to be taken away, chopped down.......huh?, how ill, the skin, they said.........pfffft.
Such a big lie, and now, now it will become a carparking-square, horrible and unforgiveble, its to late anyway, in the weekend they braught them down and off they went, the wooden pieces of what once were a grand trees.
I am baffled, when i was young we prefented lots, because we knew it, we were informed, nowadays, we get lied to and sercretly they do the bad work.... i hope somehow this event which is a bit of a war now in this part of amsterdam will lead to a better attention from people, nobody is alert no more, ppl dont care or are numb, offcourse not all off them, i know some cannot help it, but most just think of themselves and seem not to be able to look further, i placed a blog about this to call to all others in Amsterdam to act upon and use this as an example to not let it happen next time, maybe even the councilmembers will get fines or at least a reprimande so they have to make public whatever they plan to do, actually this is so not dutch, but i guess money is misslleading it all, they go bankrubt they crisis made a major juump and so many autogarages for moviehouses and teatherplaces are being openend leading at least 600 to 1200 more cars into teh centre off Amsterdam, which should be forbidden as we all voted for a anticar centre in Amsterdam, but hey, now they earn at least about 12000 euros a day more and that counts......green, future, airpollution, unhealthy surcomstances.. it does not matter.
