Subject: Urgent: 3 dogs need Rescue or Foster
Please forward!

Just wanted to send an update with new pictures on the 3 dogs that had been wandering the streets for at least a week. They need a Rescue or Foster SOON.  Time is running out for their stay in the neighbors backyard and we don't wan't to see these little cuties wind up in the shelter.

  • All 3 dogs are very friendly, lovable and playful (my initial assessment below was incorrect).  The female is somewhat talkative as well.
  • The female has her own crate in order to separate her from the males.
  • One of the males appears to have been neutered and the other one hasn't.
  • They are let out of their crates regularly to exercise and relieve themselves and haven't relieved themselves in the crates for the past 3 days, so it would appear they may be house trained.
  • Unfortunately, they are still being housed outside and rain has been forecast for the middle of this week, so it is vital to find a rescue or foster for them very soon!
  • My neighbor has been very gracious to allow them to stay in his backyard, but I am not sure how much longer he will allow them to stay as he originally said they could only stay over night.
Please contact Kurt at kvangs@aol.com or (818) 631-1182.

Subject: Urgent: 3 dogs need Rescue or Foster

  • A 501(c)(3) no-kill rescue or an experienced foster is needed to take in 3 small Chihuahua and/or Terrier Mixes found on the street.
  • They are temporarily being kept in a crate, so the sooner a rescue or a qualified foster is found the better.
  • They appear to be a mother (~3 to 4 years old) with 2 older male "pups" (~1 to 2 years old).
  • They are NOT spayed/neutered.
  • Mother may be pregnant.
  • They did not have tags but appear to have been well fed.
  • They were on the street for at least 3 or 4 days, maybe longer.  Neighbors were feeding them but could not catch them.
  • Mother is a little defensive/protective and the 2 male pups are clearly not used to being on leashes, so they require someone who is willing to spend some time training them.
  • I was able to clean the crate a couple times, but the mother was nipping at my hand (warning) on one occasion but did not bite me. (UPDATE: SEE COMMENTS ABOVE!)

  • If the mother is separated, I feel they could all be trained as the mother licked my hand a couple times and I was able to scratch their backs through the crate.

Please contact Kurt at kvangs@aol.com or (818) 631-1182.

NOTE:
Rescues will be required to provide verification of status.
Fosters will be required to fill out an application with references.
