Today was Fur Free Friday with many international protests against fur fashion, also mentioned in the media.
A few examples:
However in the small city of Linz in Upper Austria not many activists are free on Fridays because the work fulltime, study, go to school.. But if they can they use all their free time for animals.
So instead of Fur Free Friday a Fur Free Saturday took place today in Linz!
Everybody can be active for animals. It’s not necessary anymore to raise awareness about fur fashion. The truth is well known. Now it’s the time to change and drop fur.
-Collect ideas with friends/collegues for big or small protests/demonstrations: use a good catch phrase, create an impressing and understandable scene/picture..
-Organize all needed registration procedures with the police. It differs in different countries. In Austria: Only write
-time and location,
-material used for the assembly,
-estimated number of activists
and fax or send it to the responsible authorities. In Austria an approval is not needed. The only reasons to prohibit the assembly are: if the location is already taken, or because of safety reasons.
-Spread the word, advertise your idea and planned demonstrations as good as possible: Hand out info material on the street (if you have organized that too with the responsible authorities you can use a megaphone to tell your message), leave it in stores, restaurants… make posters, write it with chalk on the ground (should be something that can be washed away, otherwise it’s illegal), many school students are open for many topics (especially animals)
Interested people should also have a contact person who they can ask in case they have questions.
Use the freedom of speech and speak out for the weak!
