Jules An urgent appeal arrived via Cheryl Lang of No Paws Left Behind, Inc. regarding two kitties who need immediate help. Their guardian's message is published here with her permission. Please contact Karen Brown if you can foster her two kitties.

My name is Karen Brown.  I live in Live Oak, CA, a very rural town located between Chico and Yuba City.  I will try to keep my story as short as I can to save you some time.  After a really horrible break-up, I moved in with a friend.  Things have since become very bad here due to a misunderstanding of the nature of our relationship.  We are no longer friends.  I am currently looking for another place to live.

I have two cats, sisters from the same litter named Jules and Miss Kitty, that were welcomed here when I moved in.  Late on Sunday night, Nov. 25th, I was told that my cats had to be gone by Monday night, the 26th and that, at that time, the dog would have free reign of the house and would not be restrained or disciplined concerning the cats. So, I began contacting every organization I could.  I was worried about what my "friend" or his dog would do to them while I was at work.  My friend confirmed my fears today when I was informed that if both the cats and myself are not gone by Saturday, they and all of my belongings will be thrown outside and I will be locked out permanently.  He is also removing my bedroom door, shutting off the power to my room and the fridge that holds my food, and my children are no longer allowed here either.  I have no doubts that this is not an idle threat.  I do not have any friends and only one family member, who is disabled.  I will also admit that it is much harder for me to find an inexpensive place to stay while I save up the money for my own place when I have two cats with me.

I do not wish to re-home them; they are all I have left and we are very, very close - to the point that they groom my hair daily.  I am hoping to find a foster home for them for approximately three months while I get on my feet.  I do not have the money to board them, either.  I am putting...a flyer up at work, as well as contacting every organization in California for help.  Any help that No Paws Left Behind could provide-information, a foster home, advertising my story, grants or other programs, etc.-would be appreciated immensely.  I am out of time and almost out of options, so, really, anything would help.

ABOUT THE CATS:
Blue Torbie Point Ragdoll Mix; 1/2 Ragdoll - Mother: Seal Point Ragdoll Purebred  Father: Unknown; Female; 2 1/2 years old; 25-30lbs; Spayed; Up-to-Date on Shots; Indoor Only.  They are smart, docile, vocal, and playful.  They are also good with children and tolerate calm dogs but have not been socialized with other cats very much.  They are not destructive and are also not aggressive at all, even when hurt.  They are true to breed and go limp when picked up, even by kids.  I am also including pictures so that, if you share my story, you will have faces to put with it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you may be able to provide.  Please contact me, even if you cannot offer assistance; that way, I can plan accordingly.  My contact information is listed below.

Sincerely,

Karen Brown
