The Illinois Senate appears to be a couple of votes shy of passage at this point. However, a few anti-gun legislators are due to return to Springfield before next Tuesday's scheduled adjournment of the current General Assembly so this issue is not over yet by a long shot.
From the Sun Times:
But state Sen. Dan Kotowski (D-Park Ridge), chief Senate sponsor of the ammunition bill, told the Chicago Sun-Times that Schoenberg's absence, as well as the absence of state Sen. James Meeks (D-Chicago), left him short of the support he needed to pass the ammunition bill on the Senate floor.
Keep up the phone calls to all our legislators including Rham Emanuel on demanding our Constitutional rights.
Yesterday, 1/5/2013, Chicago Mayor Emanuel called for a phone blitz calling for gun control in our state and nation.
We need to do the same or we will not be heard. If the gun control zealots voice is louder, it will be all that is heard.
Contact as many legislators as possible on every level. Especially Emanuel, Quinn, Durbin, Kirk, Kinzinger and all of our state senators
Feel free to post any legislators contact info.
I'll appreciate the info.
It's time that we need to do a constant long term barrage to protect our rights.
They were only a couple of votes short of calling this for a vote.
That is not so much. If 2 communists had been back for the session, this would have passed the senate.
This is ready and waiting to be called for a vote. Any of these bills will be called for a vote anytime they think they have enough votes lined up. I'm sure Emanuel is pushing for all the commie legislators to get down to Springfield so they have the votes to call the bills.
