Subject: URGENT! DOGS NEED RESCUE IN EVANSVILLE, IN
To:

Hi Everyone,
We have a list of several wonderful dogs at the shelter that need rescue.  Please crosspost if you are unable to help.  If you think you can help with any of these dogs, please contact me directly at wende.mckinney@gmail.com
Jordan- Jordan is a 5 year old , neutered male, lab mix.  He is a big boy weighing in at 101 lbs.  He was surrendered to us because his family was going through a divorce, and neither person was able to keep him.  He is an EXCEPTIONAL dog.  He is very gentle.  He does well with other dogs and kids. He has not been cat tested, but we could do that.  He is well mannered, and knows many commands (sit, stay, down, shake, and possibly more!)  Unfortunately, Jordan is also heartworm positive.  We don't have the resources to be able to treat his heartworm, so rescue is his only option.  He is current on all vaccines.  He is also currently being treated for an ear infection, and those meds would go with him if not yet completed.  If Jordan is given a second chance, he will make an AMAZING addition to any family.
Barnaby- Barnaby is a 4-5  year old, male beagle.  He has not been neutered  yet, but will be before leaving here if we are able to find rescue for him.  Barnaby was originally found as a stray, and never reclaimed.  He is a super sweet and gentle boy that would likely fit in well in almost any home.  He does well with other dogs, and really likes kids. (He has spent a lot of time with 4 year old little girl during his stay with us.)  He would also be fine with cats.  He is really social and just wants to be with people.  Barnaby is fine with being a couch potato, but also like to get up and play if someone initiates it. Barnaby is also heartworm positive. He is current on all vaccines.  He would be neutered before leaving.
Oreo-  Oreo is a 3 year old, male boxer mix.  He was surrendered to our shelter because the family didn't have enough room for him.  He is good with other dogs.  We have not tested him with cats, but could if necessary.  He is gentle and affectionate, but also really likes to play.  He has lived with children, and has done very well. He is a super nice boy that deserves a second chance at finding his forever family. He is not neutered yet, but would be neutered before leaving.  He is current on all vaccinations.  Again, he is also heartworm positive.
Patches- Patches is a 1 year old female boxer mix.  She was surrendered to us because her family lost their home.  She is playful, sweet, and affectionate. She is good with other dogs, but sometimes a little nervous when she first meets them. We have not introduced her to cats, but could do so if necessary.  Patches does have some food aggression that needs to be worked with.  That was the only part of the behavior evaluation that she did not do well on.  She does go through the steps of warning before lashing out over food, so I do believe with someone experienced in correcting this behavior, she would be successful.  Unfortunately, we don't have the time to correct that behavior here at the shelter.  She is a great dog that needs and active family.  I know if given a chance she would make a great addition to a family.  She is heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and spayed.
Help with transport is available!!  Please help us help these dogs!!

Thank you!!
