Cuthbert, GA - Dog living alone with cows, still hoping for rescue!

Cowgirl loving on Kathryn, the vet tech
Thanks to several people's generous donations, I received enough money to cover her spay, 10 days of boarding, vaccinations, de-worming, and heartworm test. (I will contact each of the donors individually.)  Unfortunately, she is heartworm positive.
The vets says she is between 1 and 2 years old, probably closer to 2.  She weighs 50 pounds.  In the words of the ladies that work at the vet, "She is sweet, sweet, sweet." and "she's shy in her kennel, but becomes bubbly when you take her for a walk around the clinic or take her outside."

I love the women that work at the vet's office.  They will be honest with me and tell me how my rescue dogs react to different situations.  Cowgirl has been poked and prodded on, and never attempted to growl or bite.  They say she does not react to other dogs as she walks by their kennels, even though there is a boarder that doesn't like her.

I know I have an option to take her back to live with the cows if I can't find her a rescue.  We all know that we rarely have options in rescue, but this is not an option I'm happy with.

I talked to the cattle owner today and he really likes her, but he told me that she deserves so much better than living with the cows.
I asked Kathryn, the vet tech, if she thought that Cowgirl was unhappy being at the vet.  Without missing a beat, she said, "I think she's loving it."

Her 10 days at the vet's office ends on Monday, Feb. 18.

Cuthbert is in southwest Georgia.  It is 60 miles south of Columbus, and 40 miles west of Albany.

UPDATE:

This dog is living alone with cows.  According to the owner of the cows, she just appeared one day several months ago.  She's unusual looking, but seems to be very sweet and submissive.  She has contact with humans once a day when the cattle owner who lives in town comes out to feed and check on his cows.  He also feeds her.  He said his 5 year old grandson petted her, and she submissively fell over on her side

The owner of the cows said that he would like for her to find a good home.  If not, she can stay with the cows.  He just doesn't want her to have puppies.

I'm estimating that she is 2 to 3 years old.  I couldn't get her mouth open to see all of her teeth.  She did let me run my finger all around her teeth but wouldn't open her mouth. I know she was abused before she came there, because if you suddenly raise your arms she ducks down.

She needs to be spayed within the next 10 days because she is going out of heat and has been bred (one dog was a pitbull).  I know she can be spayed later, but if I know a dog is bred, I want them spayed as soon as possible for the puppies sake.  This will also be a great time to evaluate her personality completely.

Thanks,
Laurie
