CHANGE LEGISLATION FOR INSUFFICIENT PUNISHMENT FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY
This
petition is dedicated to a pet border collie named Cody, who on August
26, 2012, was taken by two 21 year olds who doused her in lighter fluid
and set her on fire. Cody, horribly burned, found her way home where at
once her family rushed her to the vet in desperate hope of saving her
life. After two weeks of intense treatment, Cody's injuries proved to be
beyond repair and she was unable to survive the trauma, leaving family
and friends devastated.
The abusers have been
arrested but have been released on police bail pending further
enquiries, and the laws that would punish them are highly
insufficient, here in Northern Ireland. (Welfare of Animals Act (Northern
Ireland) 2011.) the 1972 Act, the penalties were three months in jail
and/or a £5,000 fine on summary conviction. In the 2011 Act, that will
increase to a maximum of six months in jail and/or a £5,000 fine on
summary conviction, and up to a maximum of two years in jail and/or an
unlimited fine on conviction by
indictment. We need your help to
get this law changed before Cody's attackers go to court. By signing
this petition you are standing with tens of thousands who are seeking
Justice for Cody as well as other victims of animal abuse, and
demanding that the punishments for these horrific crimes be harsh and
long standing.
Animals deserve rights but have
no voice. We are their voice, it's loud, and it's going to get louder.

About
Hi, this page has been set up to hopefully ensure that Justice is indeed done for Buster
Description
This
was a despicable act in Drumachose Park this morning (16/10/12) when a
family woke to find that their poor dog, Buster had been hung from a
line in the back garden with his own lead, he had been taken from his
kennel. We want the culprits caught for the pain and suffering that was
dealt to Buster, this poor little defenceless animal and his family this
morning. The people that done this need to be brought before the law
and dealt with to show that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated
in any way shape or form!!!!
