An article appears on Care2 accusing the Vatican, Iran etc. of hatred against women. This is going a bit too far. Not because I am a Catholic, but I have my eyes open wide to world issues/ events.
After all, I am an information junkie. Accusing the Vatican of misogyny- hatred of women, is in poor taste. If the writer hates the Vatican and all that it stands for- stay away from it. Faith is in the hearts of millions of Catholics, amid the scandal and now this broadcast about Vatican's hatred of women.
The Catholic church is solid as a rock- against all attacks and negative propaganda, there are many believers- not like the fanatics who believe in killing as the ultimate in salvation. Other religious sects make tithing an obligation- surprisingly, Catholics are not under any obligation to tithe. I certainly accept the pomp- around the Vatican- after all, it stands on revered ground. Don't you spruce up your surroundings when you expect visitors?
On whose truth is this story based on? Ever heard of Mother Teresa- her passionate plea against abortion? Not all abortions are right- anyone who does not want to have kids should take all necessary steps not to have kids before engaging in sex. No one asks to be born. It is the person's responsibility to get pregnant or not. Of course there other extenuating circumstances like rape and other forms of sexual abuse and youth promiscuity.
Bringing in laws -pro or against abortion, add the input of religious sects completely takes away the responsibility of those who chose to get pregnant with the intention of getting rid of the life they created. Laws or religious dogmas can not take the place of society's moral standards, which sadly is almost non-existent with sex as easily available like soda or junk food.
