Spring is a good time to for your hamlet; or village to gather to pray for protection.
It has been a long winter, and in fact it still is acting like winter in many Northern areas. We are all anxious for spring to be here and to enjoy the wonders of spring. Yet there are many things happening in our personal lifes and around the earth, that speak of danger, war, extremism, violence, etc. We can gather together as a fellowship, church, or as a hamlet or village and spend a day, or a week-end; or even a week, praying for protection.
And as a symobolic measure, we can plant hedges around our churches, fellowships; or homes, and even around our villages or hamlets. Burning Bushes, lilacs, or whatever is appropriate for the area you live in. These hedges will not offer protection, but will remind us that we can pray for God's protection by praying for hedges of protection. Hedges are symbolic for the guardian angels that God sends us; and in some countries, warrior angels that God sends us,to protect us from harm! Building thick, strong walls; and churches with stones, rocks, and the church walls a couple of feet thick; or maybe thicker than 2 feet, in troubled countries will not hurt either.
I also know that there are verses and even whole chapters thoughout the Bible expressing God's protection. Psalm 91 is one of those chapters and I urge you to read it!
In this day and age, it seems that praying for protection is necessary; and it is also comforting to know that the Lord is interested in protecting us. Praying for protection comforts the children also; because with the media, the internet, and all manners of news, children know our world in in trouble.
