Schmorkohl is a delightful dish that I picked up in Germany.
Shyly sweet, and tart, tastes great and is healthy.
I use a half of a white cabbage, shredded.
Two apples peeled and cut into medium/small chunks.
Two medium lemons, squeeze out juice to add to rest.
A little sugar and salt to taste, and a bit of butter. (when it has cooked a bit, then you can taste to see if you need more sugar or lemon).
Three big tablespoons of Majoran.
Simply put everything in a large pot and fill with water until it covers the cabbage.
Then let it boil, reduce heat and cook it down until most (but not all) the water is gone and the cabbage is soft.
It takes some time, but is absolutly delicious. Have fun!
