I tried to leave a comment on the page for the article:
It’s Official: Men Can Legally Fire Women If They Are Attractive
It reads as follows:
A woman should NOT have to "adjust" who she is to ensure a pervert isn't tempted. And while I get the sarcasm of the author's statement about preventing the attraction, I believe you'd be hard-pressed to break that habit once you get going. Just as we should never dumb ourselves down in order to fit in or get ahead in any social environment, be it work or elsewhere, we have no reason to feel that way about how we look, shape, or present ourselves when working for a man.
I wear whatever the heck I want to work because I have class, and a mind to succeed. If a male boss were to be attracted to me he should sort that out with God and his "pastor." Leave me out of it, 'cause I'm just here to do a good job.
One of the core reasons for the many gender petitions on this inspiring and wonderful site is that a man, somewhere, felt "uncomfortable." Be it abortion, hiring, firing, etc. And we should always strive to make sure our men are comfortable, right? Um, that depends on the situation. When it comes to fairrness on the job (wages, promotions, growth), having control over our own lives and bodies (pro-choice), or protecting ourselves & our children from the dangers of this world (in the case of Marissa Alexander), that answer for me is always going to be a resounding NO.
