I'm trying to help my friend who lives outside of Huntsville find a home for his ex-wife's full blood jindo. He recently got a divorce and his ex-wife refused to take her dog as she moved into a home without a fence. She has essentially abandoned the dog and he was going to take it to the Athen's shelter, which i understand is a kill shelter. I'm trying to find an alternative solution. Can you help?

Only 1 out of 10 dogs born ever get a home. Only 1 out of 12 cats born ever find a home. 800 dogs & cats are KILLED each HOUR in the U.S, because there are not enough homes for them. A shelter animal is KILLED EVERY 1.5 SECONDS in the United States. For every animal that dies in a shelter, there is a HUMAN somewhere RESPONSIBLE. Saving one animal may not change the world, but, it will surely change the world for that one animal.
