After 8 years of a "common law marriage" my partner decided to move us to NM to retire! My faithful best friend, 3 yr old Zelda rode 12 hundred miles in my car without a whimper or complaint and adjusted to new surroundings as long as I was there with her as we had been together since she was a kitten riding on my shoulder, sleeping under my chin and protecting me from all manner of rodent, flying insect and whisp of wind that blew a curtain....she was always there to study flower petals and puppy dogs, too and would occassionally bring a small live bird to me (live and unharmed to rub, purr and wonder at before we'd gently set it free.
I was forced to flee to another state when he began sinking into the abyss of heavy drink and cocaine and was unable to catch her to bringher along - it has been almost 6 weeks and I am worried sick for her and am desperately searching for any and all suggestions as to how to get her travel arranged back up to me where whe belongs! I am in a small town in MT now. I have a full time job in a Deli in a grocery store and have a place to stay where she is welcome but am unable to make the drive (car is not in great shape and the gas $ is prohibitive not to mention the time off required---) Does anyone know of any organization(s) that might be able to help with transportation expenses to reunite my destined to be lifelong feline companion with me? I fear for her safety where she is - the house has already been invaded by a SWAT team looking for a man who tried to kill his wife while high (they did catch him) No sweet soul such as Zelda should be subjected to that kind of fearful and tenuous survival in return for all of the love and wonder she gives.
Can anyone please give me any clues or pointers? PLEASE?? I would be eternally grateful and Zelda most assuradely deserves any chance she can get....
Thanking you in advance for your thoughts and considerations....I fear she's not the only sweet pet caught in a similar bad domestic situation amongst humans....we seem to end up the "vile ones" whiile they remain the "without guile ones" -
Good Karma and Blessed Prayers to all!
