#4 Larry Ellison bought Lanai, making it self-sustaining.
Billionaire Fox News owner/CEO, Rupert Murdoch proclaimed in 2007: "Climate change poses clear, catastrophic threats. We may not agree on the extent, but we certainly can't afford the risk of inaction.â We must transform the way we use energy.."
2011: "I am proud to announce that News Corporation has reached its first major sustainability milestone: we've become carbon neutral across all of our global operations.."
Joe Bast, Heartland's Director ( global warming denial), who admits: "Virtually everybody agrees there has been warming in the second half of the 20th century [and] that there is probably a human role in that warming, that carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, and that the increase in atmospheric concentrations can be attributed to human activity.â
Featured Heartland Institute speaker, Fred Singer 11 minutes into Session#3 Q&A from Heartland ICCC#6: "There's no question that CO2 is a greenhouse gas. There's no question that CO2 is increasing in the atmosphere and that the primary cause is human. So there must be some influence of humans on climate. It then comes down to a question of numbers. Is it significanÂt? It will be significant in the future.."

Here is what leading Republicans say when they are not courting the Koch brothers, oil, gas, coal or nuclear companies for campaign dollars, in order to win another election:
ROMNEY, Feb.2011: "I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that"
SARAH PALIN, 2008 VP debate: "...as the nation's only Arctic state and being the governor of that state, Alaska feels and sees impacts of climate change more so than any other state. And we know that IT'S REAL.
GINGRICH,Feb.2007: "...mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system...Frankly, it's something I'd strongly support."
BUSH's 2007 State of the Union Address: "...these technologies will help us be better stewards of the environment, and they will help us to confront the SERIOUS CHALLENGE of GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE."
CHRIS CHRISTIE,May, 2011: â..when you have over 90 percent of the worldâs scientists who have studied this stating that climate change is occurring and that humans play a contributing role, itâs time to defer to the experts."
REAGAN,1989: "Because changes in the earth's natural systems can have tremendous economic and social effects, GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE is becoming a CRITICAL concern. Our ability to understand and predict these changes is currently limited, and a better understanding is essential for developing policies."

Now the fact that these arch conservatives said these things and that they may even believe that human caused global warming is real, does not change who they get their campaign contributions from, and that this is how they get elected.
These politicians still lie down in bed together with the oil , coal, gas and nuclear industry behemoth companies like Exxon and Exelon. Exxon and other oil, coal, gas and nuclear companies pretend to be green, but then they block all environmental protecting legislation, while advancing their own profit at any cost agenda through ALEC.
Bottom line, as long as the carbon fuel and nuclear monopolies are in power, they control what the politicians DO, as opposed to what they say to get votes, and to be elected. Once in office, these politicians then do what these carbon monopoly companies want, and vote according to their wishes, despite 'saying' the above.
The only way to break this stranglehold is to use the power of your vote. Vote ONLY for non corporate controlled candidates. The only political party that does not accept corporate 'donations' is the Green Party. They also happen to have a platform of green, sustainable development.
The Green Party does not just talk about green solutions, but they actually DO something. So if you really want change, vote in line with your conscience, not your fears. Of course, the corporate controlled news media will try to convince you that you are 'wasting' your vote, but that is all about the politics of fear and 'programming' people to vote in a way that the corporations can control.
Corporations are all about using the mass media to manipulate people into a divide and conquer strategy. But they control both sides, so any vote for the big 2, is actually a pro corporate, 'wasted' vote.
