In recognition of the environmental benefits of a plant-based diet, the Sierra Club is pleased to announce a week long vegan “volunteer vacation” in Yosemite National Park, California this July 6–13.
Participants will assist park staff with a variety of work projects to improve this iconic destination. Meals will feature tasty, healthful, and nourishing vegan recipes. There will be plenty of down time to explore and to savor the fresh air, intelligent conversation, and majestic scenery.
Why: Switching from the standard American diet to a plant-based vegan diet has been found to reduce greenhouse gas emission more than switching from a standard American car to a hybrid. This trip offers curious newcomers the chance to try a plant-based diet that provides abundant energy while satisfying the taste buds.
Who’s Invited: Anyone looking to "give back" to this special park in the company of other outdoors enthusiasts.
