There are four links in that chain, and all must be solid for the man-made global warming issue to be valid. Nothing else matters.

  1. Has CO2 levels in the Earth's atmosphere been increasing over the past century? Scientific reports indicate that is the case.
  2. Is CO2 a gas that causes heat to be retained in an atmosphere, thus making it a "greenhouse gas"? Scientific reports indicate that is the case.
  3. Does human industrial and transportative processes produce vast quantities of CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere? Scientific reports indicate that is the case.
  4. Has the average global temperature actually increased over the past few decades? Scientific reports indicate that is the case.

Those who throw around issues like nuclear power, questionable reports of exceptional weather, recent solar output, or natural climate changes in ancient or prehistoric times, only seek to cloud the issue. Unless and until you deal directly with the four central issues at the heart of the global warming issue, you have no real case.

The chain of reason remains unbroken.

RE: Dale & trusted with anything?

That's true. I am to the point in my life where I just feel that people with opinions are still ok but they can and could kill you. It's ok to feel and have opionions but when there is so much evidence leading to one side it's scary. People with opinions on this subject that get out into the population are a threat. They are a threat to the planet and us all as a species.

It's kind of like having an opinion that it's ok to breath in asbestos.

There is always going to be people who are so small minded, ignorent enough to just believe what they want to believe despite all EVIDENCE to the contrary.

This has been proved MANY times over by Religious Fundamentalist and racist such as neo nazi who deny the holocaust happened.

Denying something that has so much evidence to back it up has always been a sign of a sick mind.

I think the majority of people who are denialists on this issue are ultra conservatives and I'm sorry but I believe they have mental problems. I honestly believe there is something wrong with their brains literally.

Other areas where there are denialists of a similar sort Illustrate this fact. This clearly shows a pattern.

as i have just discussed with Dale.: this is what i have to say on the matter. IF THERE IS EVEN THE SMALLEST FRACTION OF A POSSIBILITY THAT EVEN THE SMALLEST FRACTION OF THIS MOST HORRIFIC ISSUE IS MAN MADE . IT IS ENCUMBANT UPON ALL OF US TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM BEFORE IT GROWS AND DESTROYS OUR SPECIES AND LIFE ON EARTH. THE FACTS MAY BE CORRECT ON BOTH SIDES BUT ULTIMATELY THERE IS ONE SIDE HERE AND SHOULD BE ONE SIDE AND THAT IS THE SAVING OF THE HUMAN RACE AND PLANET EARTH AND ALL LIFE THERE ON. THE NEED TO BE RIGHT, THE ARROGANCE, THE SICK LACK OF TRUE INTEGRITY AND EMPATHY IS VERY DISTURBING.
WHAT IS AT STAKE IS NOTHING LESS THAN ALL OF US. WHAT I SAY GOES FOR ANY ISSUE THAT HAS THE ULTIMATE SURVIVAL AND BEST INTEREST OF HUMANITY AT STAKE , AT THE HEART OF THE MATTER. THERE IS A PERVERSITY IN THE DENIAL MENTALITY AND MUST BE LOOKED UPON AS SUCH.TO ENGAGE IN ARGUMENTS WITH THESE PEOPLE IS not fruitful but instead fuels their warped ego. again let me state the bottom line is the bottom line for all of us all life whether at the arctic or a t a nuclear site somewhere in some corner of the world.or the air water or food
the holocaust , darfur or any issue that encompasses the sanity survival and sancitity of the human race

Most global warming denialists I'm familiar with are old people who are set in their ways. Such people are most vulnerable to confirmation bias. Younger adults, on the other hand, are not so attracted or attached to dogma. I, Dale Husband,...
