TWO THIRDS OF THE WORLD'S TURTLES ARE THREATENED WITH EXTINCTION!

- For Asian species, the figure is 75%.  This is primarily the result of human consumption.

- Despite legislation restricting trade in many turtle species, enforcement is weak, and many internationally and nationally protected species still find their way onto Chinese plates.

- UP TO 20 MILLION TURTLES PER YEAR ARE CONSUMED IN CHINA, and in 2000 alone, 25 tons were imported from Sumatra each week.

- Any action that endorses or participates in this devastating trade pushes wild turtles one step closer to extinction.

I am sure that the *Tesco turtle campaign is not new to you, but did you know that Tesco is launching in the USA as Fresh & Easy?
 
*TESCO will soon be opening stores in the USA called Fresh & Easy. This is the TESCO that sells and butchers turtles while they are still alive in China. TESCO also allows their customers to take the turtles home to kill them any way they wish. A decapitated turtle head can survive for an hour. This is a VERY GRAPHIC animation showing how turtles can be killed in China and Asia. Experts have spoken against what TESCO is doing but TESCO continues to sell and butcher turtles alive in China in their search for profit.

We have a petition; please support by signing it and help us to stop TESCO making profits from butchering animals alive.

To raise awareness in the USA I have started to produce some media to help.
 
I am posting media to the usual youtube and the likes, but came across a site which may promote the media even further if it gets enough interest.
 
We need to get the USA aware of Fresh & Easy as quick as we can, hopefully in time for some protests outside of the store openings.

I hope you can help the turtles that are being butchered alive every day.

I have just viewed video of a turtles head that is very much alive and conscious long after decapitation.
 
We need to put a stop to this cruelty at the hands of Tesco.
