Last summer, as I was walking through our downtown park, a purse snatcher grabbed my purse from behind me and started running off with it; but, a good samaritan - a man walking with his wife saw what happened and ran fast after him and scared him into letting go of my purse still unharmed.  I was so grateful that I started a blessing box at home, to keep notations inside it of random acts of kindness in my life, so I can look through them on days when life feels too difficult and unhappy.

I would like to see postings here from readers about similar true stories of random acts of kindness.

What do you think of the blessing box idea?

I challenge everyone to start a blessing box of random acts of kindness in their car or their home, to celebrate this autumn season of an attitude of gratitude.

I have heard of something like this, called a prayer box.It gives our flesh a concrete feeling to our prayers and blessings. It really does give us a moment to reflect when we write these down. I accept the challenge!

Our kind neighbor two doors down got a new snow-blower for Christmas and twice has removed almost a foot of snow from our wide, long driveway and long, front public sidewalk. We usually hand-shovel it all with our two shovels. What a delightful surprise and blessing to get a rest from that twice now!

It sounds like a good idea to me.
I can add something that just happened to me
recently.

I left my debit card in the ATM machine yesterday, & left. Then a man came up to me to
tell me that my card was on top of the machine for
me. I told him -Thank you for your honesty. It
was a small miracle of sorts. Not everyone would
do this. Thank God he did look out for me or I
might have had my account whipped out.

I think it is a wonderful idea Patty and I am going to start mine today.

My random act of kindness came from my loving daughter Catherine (24) when she brought back pretty stickers for my card making from a recent business trip to Kuwait.

My random act of kindness to someone else was when I stopped to give a lift to a gentleman (unheard of to pick up strangers especially a man by a woman alone here in the Middle East) but God was looking after me. The man was in full uniform in the hot sun and he turned out to be a security guard from my very own compound :-) Each time I drive past security now I receive beaming smiles and waves from all the guards on duty :-)

In giving we receive back tenfold. Amen!

A few weeks ago, I went on a 10-day trip. I soon discovered I forgot the outlet end to the power cord for my laptop! At every store, I was told they don't sell that part alone. Yikes! Finally, I found a small local computer store. The lady looked at my connector, picked up a cord with a matching end connector, and said, "Here you are." No charge! Is that a miracle or what! Grace abounds! God is good, and so are people.

A couple of weeks ago, my hubby and I got our car stuck in a snow bank. This is when we had 80 inches of snow in three weeks with arctic bitter cold. Shoveling for 20 minutes got no results. Then, two men stopped and were kind enough to pull us out with an attached cable to their truck. They could have kept going without helping. But they chose to make a difference.

Awesomw idea Patty
My author pen name is grizman parker. I have a sight on care2. I write books on prison corruption and spirituality. There is nothing like an act of kindness in this hard world that we live in. My significant other, Lola, has had her cancer come back after 12 years. When she was in the hospital she must have had 150 friends visit her and offer help to her and myself as we deal with this situation. There will be a hard road ahead for sure but God is in control. We were just engaged in December and have been together 3 years. The cancer has spread throughout her body. Thanks for your prayers.
