The National Council of Churches (NCC) Eco-Justice Programs is sponsoring a photo contest—On God’s Wild Land. The NCC notes that people of faith have powerful experiences with God in wild lands. Wilderness was the place where Moses was called, where the Israelites gained their freedom and religious identity, and where prophets encountered God. The Eco-Justice Programs wants to hear people to share their own stories and pictures about experiences in the wilderness.

To enter the contest, please send a photo and 100 words or less about how you connect with God in the wilderness to info@nccecojustice.org. The contest deadline is Wednesday, October 31, 2007.

The National Council of Churches of Christ is the nation’s leading organization in the movement for Christian unity. It encompasses 35 member communions including the major Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox communions, historic black denominations and historic peace churches, with approximately 45 million congregants in some 100,000 congregations across the US.
