There's a new trend starting to emerge.
It's known as "green washing".

Green washing is when someone uses "green" verbiage such as "solar", "eco-friendly" or "environmentally friendly" to attract increased attention to an ordinary item or subject.

In the real estate world, "green washing" has become an increasing problem in a continuing slump of the housing marketplace. Sellers have used these "green" words to drive extra traffic to a all-to-common property. They know these terms are gaining public attention, and they intend to use this excitement to increase their chances of getting prperties shown.

There is an fairly new company out there in the world-wide-web called Listed Green. It appears that they intend to eleminate this "greenwashing" problem, at least through their website, ListedGreen.com - an MLS (Multiple Listing Service) exclusively for energy efficient, sustainable properties worldwide. Also hosted by 100% Solar Power.

Listed Green has taken a proactive stance, whereby reviewing each green listing submitted before it gets posted to the public. This "extra step" eliminates "green washing" and allows green properties to recieve the full attention they rightfully deserve in the real estate marketplace on the web.
Growing at a quick pace, Listed Green strives to be the best MLS for all green homes and projects, an internet platform where a buyer can shop for a resale or new green living environment and a seller, real estate agent, green builder or green developer can sell their innovative energy efficient homes to a like-minded audience.
