I hope somebody can help us.  We have foxes digging under our shed in the backyard.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them in general but we do have small dogs and I've made pets out of some of the squirrels around here.  They have already killed a couple of the little squirrels and I'm afraid they might turn on the dogs.
A friend of mine owns a pet store and she sold me some Mountain Lion urine.  I sprayed it all around and it worked for a little while but not anymore.  I tried sprinkling red pepper around the holes and it didn't work either.  I've filled in the holes and put rocks on top and now they just dig around the rocks.  I really don't want them living under our shed.
Does anybody out there know what I could do?
Thanks,
Jan

This is the only thing that I was able to find, that tells about how to keep foxes from living in your yard...I hope it helps...

The best way to encourage a fox to move on is to be an active presence wherever you don't want the fox to be. Foxes are curious but wary, and if it seems like you are trying to trap them, they'll move on. The trick is, you can't just go out and make noises once or twice a day, as foxes are clever and will catch on to a routine... as in, "It's safe to live here as long as I'm elsewhere at 11:45 and 4:15."

At random times during the day and evening, walk in the area where the fox is hanging out and work that part of your yard. If you have a dog (or access to a neighbor's dog), walk her around your property at random and let her mark her territory as she will. This will make the fox think there's a dog loose nearby, a sure deterrent if the dog is not adhering to a schedule. If there is a special place where the fox is hanging out, leave a tool or three in that area overnight, then move them the next day. This will make the fox think something is up, and they'll warily move on.

What's in the shed? Humans corrupting ("taming") animals is not healthy (especially for the animal who becomes lacadaisical and lets donw guard). Let nature take course and remove whatever in shed the foxes are looking for.

I got this off google. It would be worth a try. Maybe put this around your perimeter.
Natural Cat Repellent

Coleus canina (‘scaredy-cat plant’)

Annual foliage –not very pretty but can be effective as a deterrent to cats and apparently to foxes and dogs. This plant used to be sold under the name of ‘pee-off plant’ but is now apparently sold as ‘scaredy-cat plant’ due to its abilities to deter cats. It gives off a smell that repels cats and also foxes and dogs but it only detectable to humans when the leaves are crushed and even then is only a mild smell to us.

Thompson & Morgan (01787 884141; www.thompson-morgan.com) sell young plants (5 plants @ £7.99) and recommend they are planted in dry-ish soil about 75cm apart. The plants do flower but must be propagated from cuttings which can be over-wintered in a cool greenhouse.

It is my understanding that my husband has some wisdom in this area and he says to sprinkle moth balls around the outside perimeter of your yard

Good Luck I hope it works. However, I am not guarenteeing that it will. But if it does I owe my crazy husband an appology.
