We are that group of artists, teachers and eco-activists who are organizing the cross-country tour in 2008 to teach the country about sustainable living strategies and how to live more green. Since our inception in 2005, our non-profit organization has been sustained by 100% volunteer support. We thank all of you who have been able to help out this past year in creating elements of the Roadshow, from the Conscious Carnival and the Eco-Info Zone to graphic design, sign painting, booking and grant writing.
We got super busy this summer and early fall with lots of festival appearances and took a break from regular correspondences. But we are back in action and getting prepared for our 2008 tour. There are lots of opportunities to help out and in the first week of December we will be sending out a more detailed newsletter with a year end report listing our recent endeavors, current partners as well as a whole host of opportunities that you can plug yourself into to help make this caravan cross the country and inspire a more sustainable approach to living on this planet.
To learn more specifics about our project, check out our website at www.sustainablelivingroadshow.org
The Sustainable Living Roadshow (SLR) is a caravan of educators, entertainers, and activists who tour the country in a fleet of renewable fueled vehicles, setting up off-the-grid festivals empowering communities and individuals to utilize sustainable living strategies for a healthier planet. Visiting university campuses and community events across the United States, the caravan sets up experiential learning villages, featuring workshops, speakers, entertainment and an eco-carnival. The Sustainable Living Roadshow is designed to celebrate practical solutions to global and environmental issues created by our modern energy and food systems. The intention of the tour is to introduce communities to sustainable living strategies such as bioregionalism, renewable energy, sustainable food systems, natural building practices, conscious consumerism and sustainable community development.
