New South Wales in Australia may ban sales of cats and dogs from pet stores . . . It wouldn't be the first place to do so ~ Both Belgium & Croatia recently banned such sales!!! . . .

I'd like to see a similar ban in the US. I've adopted one dam and fostered others that were abused in puppy-mill farms. My latest, a black labrador retreiver, Sugar, was destined to be put down on order of her owner because she had heart worm, lyme disease and erlichia. She also had to have surgery to remove mammarys because she never had time to recover between litters. Not only are they over bred, but many of these breeders fail to follow minimal immunization standards. They would soon be out of business if puppies and cats were not available in shops.
Please, please . .
