Thank you members! Because of your support, the Utah legislature passed S.B. 297. This new law makes the torture of a dog or cat a felony on the first offense in Utah.

In
2007, Utah was considered one of the top five worst states in the
country in terms of animal protection laws. This new law is a huge
victory for animal welfare advocates everywhere.

Best
Friends founder Gregory Castle followed the process from beginning to

given this effort during the last few months. Many legislators have
told me that they have received hundreds and hundreds of calls and
emails from our members. There is no doubt it has been a huge help in
