Is your morning newspaper and coffee an important part of your daily ritual? Do you have concerns about the internet's effect on responsible journalism and reporting?
We will be attending the AFI International Film Festival in Dallas this week with a special interest in STOP THE PRESSES!, a riveting documentary on the future of print journalism by Manny Mendoza and Mark Birnbaum. Congratulations are due Manny and Mark: they are among the Top 10 nominees for Best Documentary. Well done!
The reception before the world premiere on Wednesday, 2d April, promises to be an excellent opportunity to meet some of the featured "players" in the documentary as well as members of the journalism community affected by the dramatic changes the internet has wrought on responsible reportage and news distribution. :::Besides, who wants to miss a film's world premiere: cocktails under the stars, witty persiflage, things on toast, the red carpet walk to view the film :-0 :::
Your sneak preview of STOP THE PRESSES! is below. Please take time to check it out and let your thoughts be known (gently!) If you will be in Dallas this week, the film will be shown again later this week.
