Today, right here in the USA, teachers and scientists are being silenced. Tomorrow, it could be you.
An unusual, thought-provoking film debuts nationwide April 18th 2008, "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed". Chances are good you will recognize Ben Stein, the film's creator and guide, from recent television roles and commercials.
It's less likely, however, you will know Ben Stein is also a respected economist and writer who has advised several presidential administrations. His credentials and contacts in this latter profession led him to identify a disturbing pattern of practices by the scientific, intellectual, and political communities. The deeper he dug, the more resistance he met. Some folk sense resistance and back off; Ben Stein sensed resistance and a cover-up and made "Expelled".
The documentary makes liberal use of contemporary music like "Bad to the Bone" and Mr. Stein's droll humor to keep the film's pace moving along with a rock-&-roll energy. Yet , be warned: the questions the film raises and the events it documents will leave you distinctly uneasy about how our educational system, our sciences, and our freedom of speech are resolutely and insidiously being restricted and dumbed down.
Vote with your feet April 18th. Go see "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" at your favorite theatre.
