Should this mist recede
and we see clearly what lies ahead,
our temperaments would cede

Abundance of potatoes, browning dates,
giraffes, antelopes and partridges,
with the sunflower in this morning light elates

But nature weaves its mysteries in variety
with cycles of adversity, trials and triumphs
spring wells of  courage and sobriety

Life is like a snare in a warren,
which traps  antelopes lured by inordinate desire
but none can resist the beauty of nature’s cavern

Yet this visitation descends upon all
questioning the purpose of life,
in moments without which we are lost in a squall

When thoughts congeal into dreams
and dreams crystallize into words,
an elixir which sustains life’s gleams

Then rises the blinding mist,
anxiety evoked by primitive urges
weighing upon the mind’s list

Words hold the secret,
but quality of utterances fulfill the purpose
for words can ruin, afflict, heal and create

Let’s find edifying words to borrow,
building sound bridges for wayfarers who may stray
through these tracks tomorrow.

Beautiful. So much imagery. It takes the reader on a journey through an intricate maze. At first one thinks they're lost, then sees light ahead, and realizes they are almost home.
