HOW MAINSTREAM PSYCHOLOGY, PSYCHIATRY & SOCIAL WORK HARMS

Hi Everyone, I am asking you to join this group (link is above) as a professional with her Master's degree in Counselling Psychology and as a multisystemic therapist in the field of social work in Ontario, Canada. As a frontline worker, I see the harms that popular and mainstream psychology, psychiatry and social work do to people on a daily basis and I want to make you aware of these as everyone's life has been affected directly or inadvertently by these professions(particularly since now there seems to be a promotion of "mental health illness" in the Western world). Based on my studies, in my practice, and in my daily life, I see how labels and diagnoses coming from these professions have seriously stigmatized, oppressed, repressed, and hurt individual potential, spirit, and creativity. And I firmly believe that these labels and diagnoses need to be deconstructed in order to find and accept the beautiful differences in which we possess.
