In english:
At Corpus Christi Catholics venerate the Holy Eucharist, the transformation of bread and wine in the ceremony in measuring body and blood of Christ. Corpus Christi means "fate of the Lord '. This is also sent to the Last Supper, the last collective meal Jesus with his disciples on the evening before his death recalls. The "festival of high-Body and Blood of Christ" is always on the second Thursday after Pentecost Day.
Corpus Christi is not a day of mourning. Quite the contrary. Traditionally close to the church service the morning of a long procession. It makes the special appeal of Corpus Christi festival, which even tempted tourists, often dedicated to Bavaria travel. Flags go to the train ahead, choirs and brass band music groups sing and play the communion of the year bear children again her white dress and small suits. In the center continues the priest under a canopy with the monstrance, in which the consecrated Host, the body of Christ.
The houses along the path with red scarves and birch twigs decorated. Especially elaborate altars are designed to which the move stop to pray. Residents or the local clubs, these flower carpets, the Christian symbols like fish and bread, chalices or crosses decorate. Apart from the priest enters no carpets, one day after the round objects of admiration. That it sometimes downright competitions for the best surface, of course. Corpus Christi is in the perception of people, the Spring Festival of the church, more than Easter or Pentecost.
