Tribute: Loss of life so young

Name:Alex Jimenez
Type:Memorial (for the deceased)
To Honor:Individual(s)
Location:Lawrence, Massachusetts United States

I was working in store24 in Lawrence, Ma. when people came in like mobs and everyone was yelling at once that a good guy that was at the store all the time was taken by insurgens and nobody knew where they took them.

I was shocked to the core. This young man was only 23 years old. Then they found one of the two guys that was taken with him. The man was missing his head. Next to the man was the ID tags for my friend, Alex Jimenez and the other soldier that was taken.

They haven't found his body and this was about a year ago so the army announced him as dead deciding that if they beheaded one then they most likely beheaded the other two.

Alex had a wife, very young and she was not a citizen of this country. She only had a visa for being married to an american. Don't you know that here this poor girl is shattered and just broken down with the loss of her husband so what does Immigration do? They tell her she has to be deported now that her husband is dead. That just made me so angry!

I got together a petition and, while working, I got all the customers that knew Alex and his young wife to sign it. We sent it to Immigration and they decided to let her stay on a green card but she had to get a job.

So, I dedicate this tribute to PFC Alex Jimenez and his wife and family and what they've been thru in the last year since this started. I hope Alex is at peace. I hope his wife and family can find peace. I have prayed every night for them since this started.

I want to also express my deep gratitude to the military forces fighting in Iraq right now, risking their lives for us so we can live our lives the way we wish to.

I honor all the soldiers who have lost their lives in this War On Terror. I pray for their families that they find a way to go on and be happy.

Everyday, we cannot forget what's going on overseas. We must always support our soldiers even if we don't believe the war should still go on cuz they put their lives on the line for us and we are not worthy of it. We need to continue to be grateful. Be safe, our soldiers and come back to us please.
