Our oceans are in deep trouble. Fisheries are collapsing, runoff pollution is creating vast dead zones, and global warming is causing the death of corals. Now the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMF -- the very federal agency charged with managing and protecting our oceans -- is proposing a new approach that would allow increased depletion of ocean resources without adequate analysis of the consequences.

Please tell the National Marine Fisheries Service:
respect our environmental laws.

• Fishery managers would be allowed to make decisions without adequately considering the impacts on marine life.

• The public's ability to participate in decisions about the future of our oceans could be significantly limited.

• Responsibility for conducting environmental review would be inappropriately allocated in part to the regional fishery management councils who have mismanaged our ocean fish for decades.
