Blog: The Year So Far...an A.R.E. Update

From our CEO, Kevin Todeschi:

As part of the 2008 Congress presentation, we compiled a listing of new programs and activities that have begun in the last 18 months with your support. That listing is presented for your information here:

·         We built the 75th Anniversary Labyrinth and Fountain in front of the Hospital Building

·         We opened the Cayce/Reilly Student Clinic (offering the public massages from our massage school students) and Knead to Read Bookstore – both located in the Edgar Cayce hospital building

·         We started a Spanish publishing company – Libros Illuminados – with three books now available in Spanish (The Story of the Soul, Edgar Cayce: Man of Miracles, and Angels, Archangels and the Unseen Forces)

·         We created a Spanish component of membership (www.EdgarCayce.org/espanol)

·         We signed an agreement with the People’s Republic of China and they have published the Edgar Cayce Handbook for Health through Drugless Therapy in mainland China

·         We launched the very successful Volunteer Call Service – giving Virginia Beach volunteers a meaningful service, and providing our members and friends with a vehicle for getting virtually any question answered – from, “What did Edgar Cayce say about ________?” to “Can you help me understand this psychic experience?” to “Can you help me with this dream…?”

·         We expanded the A.R.E. / Helena Patti Day Camp to offer youth programs throughout the summer – also for youth, we will be offering our first eGroup on the Akashic Records to students later this Fall

·         We launched the Edgar Cayce Scholarship program for local area High School students

·         We published our first audiobooks on CD – There is a River and Edgar Cayce on the Akashic Records

·         We began a number of online communities as a means of acquainting a broader audience with this ever-expanding work: MySpace, Facebook, and other online social networks

·         We created a “green” eMembership – the option of having all benefits are delivered electronically

·         We hosted our First South American Congress in Ecuador with over 300 participants in attendance

·         We are in the process of pursuing the delivery of Continuing Education credits for professionals through Atlantic University – these CEs will be especially suitable for counselors and the mental health disciplines

·         We are in the midst of a technological upgrade that is enabling us to make DVDs of conferences and will eventually allow us to offer streaming conferences and downloading lectures

·         We plan to launch an A.R.E. Headquarters in Houston, Texas with its own Spa, conference center and bookstore – Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. – Houston Center. Watch your Venture Inward magazine for upcoming details

·         We have been working with a local architect for plans that entail a $3.5 million renovation of this site – improved parking, professional lighting, expanded education space and a Cayce Café – offering meal service to our conferees, our members, our students, our visitors, and our staff

All of these things are only possible with your support!  Your contributions allow us to "keep on keeping on" as we share this important work with thousands of people who come to us daily. To make a gift to the A.R.E. today, please go to www.edgarcayce.org/donate.
